I am working on a project the last couple of days that is based on a Digg-like social platform. I tried Pligg at first but i have ended up using the Drupal-Drigg combination. I would say that in the first glance Pligg is more feature-rich. Drigg however is much more robust and has a definite competetive advantage. It has 99% UTF-8 support. This is very important when building a localized solution like i currently do. Both applications are constantly under development and as i am writing this post their admins are working on several bugs. So keep yourself updated on the stuff that may have disappointed you in both apps. Isn't it amazing what you can do with these kicking open-source social platoforms?
